No way to appease Hamas

There were two letters in the July [2021] Jewish Rhode Island critical of Israel's defense in the Gaza war. The writers blame Israel for the conflict and casualties. Hamas uses hospitals and schools as military installations to increase their own civilian casualties for public sympathy and to take away attention from Hamas targeting Israeli civilians. Also, many of the dead in Gaza were from Hamas rockets landing on their own people.

The sworn mission of Hamas is to kill all the Jews in the world. Here are two quotes from the Hamas Charter to remind people who Israel is fighting:

“Israel will exist, and will continue to exist, until Islam abolishes it, as it abolished that which was before it.”

“The hour of judgment shall not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them, so that the Jews hide behind trees and stones, and each tree and stone will say: ‘Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him,’ except for the Gharqad tree, for it is the tree of the Jews.”

Short of national suicide, nothing Israel can do will appease Hamas.
