Go to the polls if you can

Posted

I worked on political campaigns in 1976, and Lorber, and others into the 80s.I sat at the Board of Elections and watched them go over absentee ballots. I don’t remember there being mail ballots back then. I saw and heard of people getting arrested for helping (mostly in the elderly high-rises) others fill out the ballots. Anyone connected with any close elections in Rhode Island knows this has always been a problem and really can’t be stopped. If you can stand in line at the market or anywhere else, you can stand in line to ensure your vote is counted. This is a very important election.
